Recruit and hire key operations roles for organizations

The Ops Collective has supported numerous organizations who are looking to expand their operations teams. Many organizations don't have the internal capacity required to run and manage a full search for a new operations role. Given our tenure in nonprofit operations, The Ops Collective can help create a hiring plan and identify potential candidates for those operations roles, from Operations Assistant all the way up to Chief Operating Officer.

The Ops Collective Helps Organizations Expand Their Teams By:

  • Supporting in the creation of a job description. Either by refining an existing JD, and/or working with teams to develop a matrix of responsibilities that leads to the creation of a JD. This also helps determine what level of role/expertise is required for the new position.

  • Building out a hiring plan and guide that includes places to post the job, phone screen questions, interview questions, trial projects, reference check questions, and email templates.

  • Doing the initial screen of candidates to identify the right amount of people to move into the phone screen stage.

  • Conducting phone screens for suggested candidates and making recommendations on who to move forward in the process.

  • Preparing the internal hiring team for subsequent interviews.

  • Managing the dissemination and flow of trial projects, including payment of honorariums to candidates who spend time working on the trial projects.

  • Strategizing with the hiring team on the final candidates.

  • Conducting reference checks.

  • Managing all email communications to all candidates throughout the entire process.

  • Support with the creation of onboarding plans for the new hire.

Outcomes Of Our Work Together

  • Provided additional capacity for teams as they move through the hiring process.

  • Help narrow down candidates based on our collective experience in the field of operations.

  • Help set new operations team members up for success by ensuring they are clear on their role and responsibilities, and have the tools and systems they need to be successful in their roles.
